A monthly report for the month of December 2024

December is a month to spend time with loved ones. In this month, love and peace is filled and is evident in Uganda as people travel from different parts of the country and world at large to celebrate the birth of Christ with their families.

Normally during this festive season, Lin Hands Uganda reaches out to needy people basically children and widows on our social program. This month was not different from our tradition and norms, we reached out to families and some sponsored children, and we gifted them Christmas gifts.

This is done in a way that restores hope and puts a smile to these people and feel loved and part of the big Christ family. What seems small in other eyes is big and it glorifies the Lord. Activities of the month:

There were a few activities conducted this month since it was a very busy month. There were three activities conducted as seen below.

1.    Nalufenya Malnutrition ward.  It has been now two years since we officially started to help the malnutrition ward of Nalufenya children’s hospital. Every month we donate eateries that are then turned into solvents to feed the malnourished children so that they may be healed. These eateries include sugar, rice, beans, cereal oils, and milk. Other items supplied include bar soap. The hospital management is grateful for this monthly donation that eases their work and helps in restoring children’s lives.

2.    Christmas Gifts. As it is our culture to celebrate big Christian days with others, this month we gave out food items to families and some families of the sponsored children. Each family received 2 bars of soap, 15kgs of rice, a Kuroiler chicken, and 2 sachets of salt. Malijani, a widow in Butiki village was amazed and she commented, “Why have you not come with the other white man and his wife? Send my kind regards to them and please let them know that I love them so much. They have changed my life” It was a great moment listening to her kind words. That showed us her gratitude. Most families were happy to receive the Christmas gift packages.

Local Orphanage: The children at the local orphanage celebrated Christmas. There was cutting a cake which was supported by Mr. Anders and his wife Ingela as a gift to the children. Emmanuel Musasizi and Jean Rousseau who volunteer of Link Hands Uganda delivered the cake and helped in serving the children at the orphanage. As usual, a shout of joy and thanksgiving was made by the children. They were happy and prayed for the sponsors God to bless him.

Conclusion:

It has a been a blessed year to work and partner with Mr. Anders and his family. There is a lot that has been achieved through our monthly activities which include, school fees to children, clothes support to Brenda, sewing machine to Malijani family, food packages to needy families, bible study sessions with the children and women, medical care to people, and many more.

We look forward to working with you again in the new year and accomplish more tasks.

                                           Happy New Year!!!

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
