Introduction

Link Hands Uganda is still focused on its goal and aims in this new year. Our central focus is to uplift poor communities and people socially, economically, and spiritually. Each year we look forward for excellency and success. In this month of January, Link Hands has been instrumental in helping the needy people and one at a time the starfish way.

Activities of January 2023

There were various activities performed in January. The month was characterized by giving medical treatment and paying bills to needy people, Bible for the orphanage, Distributing Mosquito nets, and evaluating Brenda.

Activities that were done are as follows:

1. Checking and evaluating Brenda

Nankwanga Brenda is among the people who have benefited from the small business fund sponsored by Swedish Family. Brenda is the most success story among all other beneficiaries. She is consistent in her business and registers success. In December, she received clothes from Mr. Anders through the Swedish Family. We assessed her business, and she is doing well. She requests more prayers and support to her.

2. Local Orphanage

The Local orpahange is called “Children’s Hope Ministry Uganda” and it is in Buyala Budondo, in Jinja City. It has 26 children. Link Hands Uganda has a great relationship with this orphanage since 2019. Like in the past, Rev. Benard reached out and distributed the word of God to the loving kids. Not all kids were present on that day because some had gone to meet their relatives and enjoy being in the community. They requested to have children’s books next time. The pastor prayed with the kids and the goal is lead them to the Lord and realize the power, hope, forgiveness, eternal life, and love. The director of the orphanage Mr. Keneth Naibugo was so thankful and welcomed us every time we want.

3. Mosquito nets

For the first time Link Hands Uganda reached out the Lutheran Theological College Uganda and distributed mosquito nets to students who never had any. The seminary is in Magamaga swamp where mosquitoes always breed. In a way of fighting malaria, a mosquito net is necessary. 8 new students received the mosquito nets. The Dean of Student, Rev. Peter Maganda was very happy for such an outreach. A seminarian called James Alinaitwe said, “We give thanks to the Lord focusing you to give us mosquito nets. Our families are poor, and the seminary too doesn’t have a good health plan. But may the Lord bless you guys and the donors wherever they are”. These were catchy words for Link Hands Ugandan Director.

Link Hands Uganda will come up with a program to give mosquito nets during rainy seasons to its people on social program.

4. Medication to Kimumwe Mark

Kimumwe Mark is 8years old and suffering from a medical condition called RMI. He needed money for medication and further scanning. He was introduced to me by Mr. Jaril and Sharif, the ones who helped us with Lukman. It is unfair to see Mark suffering and in pain. Link Hands Uganda reached out to him and gave a hand in buying medication and further scans. Mark isn’t in good condition now and still needs further treatment which Link Hands cannot afford.

Accountability

The table below shows the accountability for the month of January 2023

Recommendations.

v Kimumwe Mark should be helped for further medication.

v Link Hands to give out mosquito nets to its beneficiaries.

v To at least help two more people with small business funds.

v Link Hands to stick to a fixed Budget.

Conclusions

Being the first month of the year, we registered success and look forward for the coming months. Link Hands is forever grateful for Mr. Anders helping and serving the needy people of Uganda. Together we can achieve more and learn from each other how to serve the needy people better.

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.” Isaiah 11:2-3
