A monthly report for the month of January 2025

Introduction:

The government of Uganda is focused to end poverty in the country and bring good healthcare, food security, education, clean water, security, and wealth creation programs. The government has put in place initiatives like Emyoga, Youth livelihood fund, and many more to end poverty but this has not been effectful because it is characterized by corruption and embezzlement of funds.

NGOs in the country have stood up to help the government in addressing such issues in the country for the betterment of our people. Link Hands Uganda on a level of a community-based organization has been effectful in addressing pressing issues mentioned above in its area of operation namely the Eastern region, Uganda. And this has been on a small scale but impactful because it has changed the lives of many people.

Activities of the month.

The following below are the activities which were accomplished in January.

1.     School shoes for children:

The sponsored children received the shoes for another academic year. Many children in rural Uganda walk barefooted to school and this makes them get diseases like jiggers, warms, snake bites, and other germs. Scotching sunshine and rainy days also affect children as they walk to school. Helping needy children with shoes enables them to rush to school and prevents such challenges mentioned above. Link Hands Uganda provides school shoes to the children on the sponsorship program and other need children who are not on the sponsorship program. Part of the December  and January funds were used to buy shoes for the kids.

2.     Lutalo’s Son’s treatment & burial:

Rev. Lutalo’s son called Ronald Kimbugwe, who was 7 years old, was bitten by a dog and it infected him with rabies virus. He was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late for him, and he passed away in Kayunga regional referral hospital. It was a hard time for Lutalo and his family to accept and they grieved immensely. Ronald was laid to rest at Lutalo’s home compound where we had lunch with Mr. Anders. Lutalo reached out to Link Hands Uganda, and we assisted him with medication and burial arrangements. May Ronald’s soul rest in paradise. 3.     Nalufenya children’s hospital outreach.

Link Hands Uganda is committed to reaching out to the malnutrition ward of Nalufenya children’s hospital. The hospital staff is incredibly grateful for this continuous support. Now since USAID and other foreign agencies have stopped funding, there is great need at this hospital in all different wards. Dr. Brian narrates, “Your support is heaven sent, and this means its not you but Jesus doing it through you. I believe God good plans for all these malnourished children.” These were sizzling words of faith, and I am thankful that they realize God’s helping hand in this.

4.     Office rent:

For Link Hands Uganda to run well and successfully, it a government policy for all CBOs, CSOs, and NGOs to have physical addresses and this calls for office space where the organization operates from. Link Hands Uganda hires an office space that it uses to handle official duties of the organization. This year, we received finances from Mr. Anders, and we paid for 6 months for operation. We are so thankful to Anders and his wife Ingela for supporting our organization with funds to pay rent and we run the organization well. Accountability for the month of January.

Conclusion: As the economic times are getting harder due to politics in the world, we thank Mr. Anders for his continuous support to the needy people in Uganda; making subtle moves that are changing people’s lives.

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
