A monthly report for the month of January 2026

Introduction.

Uganda entered the new year in a period of national transition, marked by the five-year general election cycle for presidential, parliamentary, and local leadership. Historically, election seasons in the country are characterized by heightened political tension and security concerns. Due to the unpredictable climate and the resulting safety risks, many non-governmental and community-based organizations—including Link Hands Uganda—were forced to scale back field operations. While our activities were limited this month to ensure the safety of our team and partners, our commitment to our mission remains steadfast as the situation stabilizes.

Activities of the month.

There were only two activities performed in January, as seen below.

1.     Nalufenya Malnutrition Ward.

By providing monthly supplies to the Nalufenya malnutrition ward, Link Hands Uganda plays a vital role in child health. These supplies allow the unit to create specialized nutritional solutions, ensuring that every child has access to the life-saving nourishment required for growth and healing. Link Hands Uganda continued its partnership with the Nalufenya Ward this month with another successful distribution. The management team received the supplies with deep appreciation, reaffirming the positive impact of LHU’s ongoing commitment to the unit.

2.     School Shoes for the Sponsored Children.

We are thrilled to report the successful distribution of new school shoes this January. By timing this delivery for the start of the academic year, we ensured the children were perfectly prepared for their return to class. Our team went the extra mile to reach every child, delivering shoes directly to their homes, and even those who were not at home received their shoes as we left them at their parents' homes. This initiative, made possible by Mr. Anders and Mama Ingela, is a major step in promoting child health. With these shoes, the children are now protected from jiggers and other foot-related infections. We thank God for this provision and for the continued kindness you show the kids in Uganda.

Accountability of the month.

The table below shows the accountability for January.

Conclusion.

Despite the unique challenges this month presented, Link Hands Uganda remains dedicated to its mission of uplifting vulnerable and needy children. Your partnership and support allow us to stay resilient during periods of national transition and provide the stability these children need to thrive. We look forward to a productive year ahead, fueled by your continued generosity and our shared vision for a healthier, educated, and self-reliant community. Thank you for standing with us.
