A monthly report for the month of Mars 2025

Introduction:

Every day we work towards achieving our objectives and we are a mission driven team that works tirelessly to see that our communities are transforming socially, economically, and spiritually. Link Hands Uganda is deliberately working together with community members to champion for change through spreading the word of God, sponsoring education for needy children, giving small businesses, donating clothes and shoes, proper healthcare to malnourished children at Nalufenya hospital, promote agriculture and food security to our people, and equip community people with life skills.

In this month of March, ideally, we reached out to healthcare concerns that are rampant in our community; this includes the healthcare of mothers and children.

Activities of the month.

The following are the activities performed in the month of March 2025

1.     Mama Kits at Lukolo health center:

Dr. Joel Kiige a senior doctor and administrator of Lukolo health center, reached out to us and asked us to provide support to the maternity unit where the expectant mothers are. Lukolo health center is a government facility, but it doesn’t have all the required equipment to run. Pregnant mothers are expected to buy mother kits which doctors use in surgery or when giving birth. A mother kit has the following items: scissors, blade, cotton, towel, surgical spirit, surgical thread, and other items. Link Hands distributed mother kits to 18 pregnant women who were present that day and each one of them got. The remaining 16 mother kits were left in the hands of the health center administrators to provide to the women who will come later, and Link Hands will follow up on them. Dr. Joel said, “Thank you for today’s good will donation. Most off these women cannot buy mother kits, and the government doesn’t provide any to us, so it is a challenge and makes our work difficult. You really relieved us!! God bless you and now the door is open, you can come in any time and support us.” Dr. Joel has worked with us from the beginning when we used to provide mother kits to Mpumudde health center, and he connected us to Nalufenya administration.

2.     Shoes for Brenda:

We delivered three boxes of shoes to Brenda. The boxes contained secondhand children’s shoes which she will sell in the market in Jinja town. This kind of support helps Brenda to be self-reliant and support her family financially by being able to pay school fees for her three school-going children. She has a big heart of gratefulness, and she appreciates Mr. Anders for his enormous support.

3.     Nalufenya children’s hospital:

We supplied Nalufenya with items that will be used to make solvents for the malnourished children. The items were delivered to the malnutrition ward administrator. They appreciate our monthly support because it does wonders and helps children to recover.

Every month is different with new challenges. Amidst all the challenges, we manage what we can do and support what is essential to our goals and visions. We thank Mr. Anders and his beloved wife Ingela for the consistent support they give to the people of Uganda.

“I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him. “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. “Lamentations 3:25-26
