A monthly report for the month of May 2025

Introduction:

The new government guidelines enforced and implemented have seen changes in the charity organizations countrywide. The charity or non-for-profit organizations required to register with the Uganda Registration Bureau that oversees all registered companies and entities. This is because of the government intervention in no-for-profit-organizations and regulating fake or non-performing organizations.

Link Hands Uganda legal name was changed to Link Hands Organization as it was advised by the registrar of organizations. And it was registered as a company limited by guarantee without share capital. This means that we must change or update the organization details, like Bank account name, and other required documents. The postal address changed to: P.O.BOX 902808 Jinja Uganda in the names of Link Hand Organization. The other postal address is still active for the entire year. We embrace the change that the government has brought into place for the betterment of serving the poor communities and people in Uganda.

This has ignited the Link Hands to serve people better in Uganda and continue to work towards our objectives; promote literacy through education, promote healthcare, preaching word of God, clean water, relief aid to needy people, skilling the women and income generating activities, and environment conservation.

Activities for the month of May 2025.

The following below are the activities performed in May.

1. School fees: Link Hands Organization runs a sponsorship program that has fourteen children. There are six in primary school, seven in secondary school, and one in tertiary school. Every year these children are promoted to other classes, that is why now there are more in secondary school than primary school. Ever since this program started, Leticia, who was just beginning secondary school education, now has completed and awaits to join university in August. Only one child dropped ever since we started the program and was replaced by another. This program is pivotal and key to Link Hands seeing their sponsored children growing and becoming knowledgeable and Godly. We extend our applause to Mr. Anders and Ingela who value the education of children.

2. Brenda: she is an ambitious woman who has a small business of selling secondhand clothes and shoes in the market in Jinja City. Mr. Anders collects clothes and shoes in Sweden and sends them to her through our organization. She received two boxes of shoes which she sold in the market. Brenda has a dream of completing her studies and now she has applied to Kampala University where she will study public administration for three years and later, she will be awarded a bachelor’s degree. Her studies are being financed and sponsored by Mr. Anders and his beloved wife Ingela. This is a great achievement for Brenda, and we look forward to seeing her grow and complete her studies. The sky is the limit for her.

3. Orphanage: When Mr. Anders and his wife visited in 2023, they developed an interest in helping the local organization that is run by Mr. Muzungu Noah. Every Christmas and Easter, they send funds to buy a cake for the orphans. Mr. Anders sent boxes of shoes as his donation to the orphanage. The children sang songs of praise and joy for the gift of shoes that they received. The children will no longer go to school barefooted but wear shoes. We thank you Mr. Anders for your continuous support and donation to the local orphanage.

4.  Registration with URSB:

The was able to register with Uganda Bureau of standards. This is a big step for us because now we can operate countrywide, and the government data system has our data too. This is the beginning of the process of registration. We thank God for this milestone.

5. Roofing program for Tenywa.

Tenywa Balaam, 75 years old, is a widower and a resident of Wakitaka village in Jinja. His house was destroyed by heavy winds and rain. The community raised concern about constructing him a new house. The entire community participated to see Tenywa get a new house. Link Hands Uganda was contacted by the village elder, and we responded by roofing Tenywa’s house. We donated 18 timbers and 5 iron sheets for roofing. Tenywa said, “My heart is delighted and full of joy!! A poor man like me God has remembered me. Surely the Lord is good.”

6.  Nalufenya Malnutrition ward.

This ward at Nalufenya Children’s hospital gets supplies for making nutritious solvents for the malnourished children. This kind of support restores malnourished kids to full health. We thank our donors for this continuous support.

Conclusion:

Every single penny counts and changes lives. A simple gesture of love, laughter, smile, changes someone’s day. And simple acts of kindness and the word of God redeems people to Christ. And this is what Link Hands does!!! We thank Mr. Anders and his wife for this continuous support.

The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.” John 6:63
