Introduction.

Each month brings unique challenges as we address a range of problems. Our task isn’t just about distributing cash handouts; we strive to understand the issues, analyse them, and determine whether we can implement short- or long-term relief solutions. Link Hands Uganda is dedicated to empowering and supporting the needy in Eastern Uganda, especially in Jinja District. This is achieved through sharing the Word of God, which restores, heals, and comforts troubled hearts. Additionally, we run several programs aimed at uplifting those in need across Uganda. This month, we carried out activities that brought joy to many, lifting their spirits in various ways.

Activities of the Month.

1.     Refurbishing and renovation of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

This church is located in the Ibanda district in Southwestern Uganda, and it was built on a hill. It faces challenges of a poor drainage system, and when it was first constructed, it was done badly. Rev. Moses Ahimbisibwe started the fundraising drive to refurbish and renovate this church since it was in a dire state and remotely located. Pastor Moses, being our friend though he is far, reached out to us, and we were excited to support the good work of constructing God’s temple. Link Hands Uganda bought one trip of bricks and one trip of sand that would be used in the construction of this temple. Rev. Moses showed gratitude when he said, “How wonderful to trust in God. I didn’t have any hope of how this would go, but it is good to trust God when you are doing his work.” We give thanks to the Lord that his work was done marvellously, and he provided for it to be done. 2.     Nalufenya Malnutrition Ward.

The malnutrition ward of Nalufenya children’s hospital is the neediest ward of the hospital. Link Hands Uganda continues to support it monthly with food items that are used to make solvents, and food for the caregivers or their nurses. We also provide sanitary tools like detergent soap and medical sanitiser to ensure there is good hygiene and no spread of diseases. This ward or unit is thankful for this continued support since USAID cut them off. As LHU staff, we are very happy that even amidst the financial problems of USAID and other international agencies, we can serve the needy children at this ward.

Accountability of the month.

The table below shows the accountability for May.

Conclusion.

Every little step we take, we give thanks to the Lord. And without your support, this work of supporting the ministry and many children would be impossible. We thank God for using you as his vessels to reach out to the needy people in Jinja.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11 – 13
