Introduction:

Every month Link Hands Uganda continues to support needy people in Uganda. It achieves this by identifying the neediest in the community who need help then we work hand in hand to ensure that their difficulties or burdens are no more.

In some instances, we engage the beneficiary to contribute towards their challenge so that Link Hands Uganda doesn’t do everything for them. We go through this strategy when we assess that the beneficiary can raise part of what is needed. This helps to avoid long-term dependency syndrome, but mindset changes, and uplifting them socially, spiritually, and financially.

As we near the end of year, we assess our progress and challenges. There are several achievements so far but our biggest is to see that still with the little funding many people’s lives are attached and changed for good. Some have come to faith and to accept Jesus Christ because of this support and prayers. We give glory and honor to the Lord. Our biggest challenge is that there is a lot of people who need help, and we cannot help them all. In this month of November, the focus was basically medical support to people on social program and the Nalufenya Malnutrition ward.

Activities of the month

The following below are the activities for the month of November 2024.

1.     Motorbike for Rev. Lutalo: In August when Mr. Anders visited us here in Uganda, he worshipped at Kato Lutheran Church a remote and rural church in Kayunga District. The head pastor of that church is Rev. Wilberforce Lutalo. Rev. Lutalo shared his ministry challenges with Mr. Anders and the biggest challenge was lack of transport. Mr. Anders bought a brand-new motorbike for Lutalo to enable him to move from one place to another doing God’s work. Lutalo is a happy soul and jolly man.  “I wish Anders was here to jubilate with me because I am feeling so happy and he come I will donate my cow to him. God is wonderful” said Lutalo after receiving a motorbike.

2. Mukyala Musisi: She is a widow who resides in Mafubira village. She had a terrible Boda-boda (motorbike) accident and broke her legs twice. This happened just right next to the office of Link Hands Uganda. Since Rev. Benard Mwesigwa knew her, hurriedly together with other people and took her to hospital to get medical attention at St. James Orthopedic where the doctor realized that her bones were terribly broken. Link Hands paid some of the funds for her bones to be stitched but the bill was greatly big, so the community leaders were engaged, and they paid some of the bills. Mukyala Musisi is still in hospital and recovering at a slow pace since she is aged woman. She says, “I thought I was dead, but God is amazing how he gave me a second chance. Glory be to God!!” Keep her in your prayers that she recovers well.

3.     Brenda Nankwanga: she is among the pioneers of this social program and small business program, and we regard and respect her highly because she is a successful story. She received the five parcels from the Swedish family sent for her business of selling secondhand clothes and shoes. With this kind of business, she has been able to educate her children and support her family financially.

4.     Nalufenya Malnutrition Ward: As it is our policy to serve this specific ward of Nalufenya children’s hospital, we delivered food items that are used to make solvents for the malnourished babies. This month of November, we reached out to Nalufenya Malnutrition ward and the doctors appreciate this monthly support.

5.     Benard’s phone support: Benard wanted to get a new phone because the old one doesn’t take good pictures. Mr. Anders sent him part of the funds to support him to buy a new phone to use for both personal and Link Hands Uganda’s work or activities. Thank you, the Eliassons, for your generosity.

Accountability for the month of November 2024

Conclusion

It gives us joy seeing people getting helped every day and giving touching testimonies. With this continuation of support, many people will be transformed socially, and spiritually, and their mindset will change.

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11
