A REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2025

Introduction

This season, as the country prepares to hold general elections early next year in January, it faces social, economic, and political challenges. Many Ugandans across all sectors are affected, and poverty has risen. This is happening in a season where food security has been affected by the changing weather patterns, so many homes do not have enough food.

The government highly monitors the NGOs and CSOs' activities with fear of sponsoring an uprising to oust or topple the current regime. This has resulted in freezing of their bank accounts, and some other NGOs and CSOs have been expelled from working in Uganda. Amidst these challenges, Link Hands Uganda, by the grace of God, hasn’t been affected, and we continue to give hope to many people in the villages of Jinja. This hope and love are shared in various ways, for instance, by sharing the word of God, sponsoring a child’s education, providing relief food, making hospital visits, and offering prayers, among others.

We were blessed to host our friend, brother in Christ, and partner in this work of helping the needy and restoring hope by proclaiming God’s word. Mr. Anders Eliasson from Sweden, who accompanied us during our activities in the first week of November.

Activities of the month

The following are the activities carried out in November. Most activities were carried out during Anders’s mission trip to Uganda.

1) Nalufenya Malnutrition Ward:

We visited the malnutrition ward of Nalufenya Children’s Hospital in Jinja town, where we donated a pediatric weighing scale. Mr. Anders brought with him thermometers that he handed over to the pediatrician. We then visited all the wards as Anders prayed for the children. The most disturbing scene was in the emergency room where children with heart diseases were lying helplessly, and their parents seemed to be frustrated and broken inside. And when we visited the general ward where children with sickle cells were the majority, the parents were hopeless and tired of being in the hospital. One parent said, “Every month I am in this hospital because my daughter has sickle-cell anemia. This has hindered my work, and it has caused me to be financially unstable. I am frustrated, and I don’t know what to do. Please pray for me.” Anders prayed for every child on all sickbeds. We believe many were discharged from the hospital after a short while. The doctors at Nalufenya work tirelessly to save the lives of children, but they still lack good equipment and medication. keep Nalufenya in your prayers.

2)  Lukolo Health Center.

This is situated north of Jinja town in a rural place called Lukolo. It is the only government health center in this village, and it serves the neighbouring 7 villages. On average, they receive between 50 to 100 patients per day. Being a rural health facility, it faces challenges like electricity, lack of modern equipment, lack of better buildings, and clean water, among others. We visited this health center, and Mr. Anders donated thermometers and a standard weighing scale, and the doctors were happy to receive these gifts. Dr. Kiige said, “What you have done is amazing. We have been struggling to know the weight and height of our patients, but it will be easier for us. Thank you for the gifts!! God bless you!” We then donated soap to patients who were around for hygiene purposes.

3) Bibles to Zion Lutheran Church.

Zion Lutheran Church is a new preaching station in Magamaga Buwenge town council. This congregation meets in an unfinished house of a Christian. It is a young congregation with around 40 people. On Sunday, we had our prayer at this church where ordinand Kenneth Isooba (soon will be ordained) preached a very good sermon. We then delivered 40 Bibles to each person who was in church. As Anders was delivering the Bibles, he said to everyone, “Take good care of the Bible, and it will take good care of you.” The congregants were happy and jubilant about this. the Word of the Lord grows! It is alive in Uganda.

4) Faith Orphanage Butiki.

This is a local orphanage located in the hills of Butiki village, and it is run by Muzungu Noah. This orphanage is mainly supported by the Americans, but we also support it with clothes and shoes for the kids. The children are very loving and happy. We had a good time there as children sang Christian songs and danced in a way of entertaining our visitor, Mr. Anders! He then donated shoes and clothes to the children. We concluded our day by sharing a cake and with a prayer.

5) Hashim’s wheelchair.

Hashim has Down syndrome and is a handicapped young boy. When Mr. Anders visited in 2024, he was touched by Hashim’s situation, so this year he decided that he should get a wheelchair. Hashim’s situation is worsening because he cannot talk or stand. His mother has done what it takes to see that Hashim is happy and alive. The wheelchair was given to Hashim to support his mobility. Thank you, Mr. Anders, for making this possible. As Link Hands, we are grateful.

6) Education sponsorship.

During Mr. Anders’ mission trip this year, we visited some of the sponsored kids in primary and secondary schools. We visited Mboli Asharaf, a cousin brother to Hashim. We visited Mourice, Patrick, Kauthara, Blessing, and Immaculate in their homes as we were distributing relief food. The children are studying well, and next year they will be in new classes. We also visited Leticia, a university student studying business administration. In the future, we plan to bring her to volunteer with Link Hands Uganda.

7)  Brenda Nankwanga

She is a young woman who has successfully developed her business of selling clothes. Mr. Anders delivered clothes to her to sell so that she could support her family financially. Brenda is apparently studying public Administration, and we plan to make her one of our volunteers in the future. She was happy, and she said, “I am never forgotten! The Lord answers prayers. Thank you for visiting and supporting me.” The two parcels that came in late were delivered to her to continue with her business.

8)  Food distribution.

During this mission trip, nine families were visited, and we delivered food items like rice, beans, bread, and other items like Vaseline and soap for hygiene purposes. When we visited Malijani’s family, she welcomed us with a loud ululation and dances. It is always one of our best times during this visit. She received the items, and in return, she gave us sweet bananas. In almost every family we visited, we were given gifts like peanuts, sweet bananas, and cucumbers as a way of showing their gratitude and return of thanks. The families were happy to see Mr. Anders and to receive the gifts. We prayed for every family that we visited.

                                                                 Accountability of the month

The table below shows the accountability for November. This includes some expenses that are not indicated in the activities.

Conclusion:

The mission trips are very encouraging to both LHU volunteers and the people we support. This makes our partners or funders understand the needs in the community and allows them to participate in every activity. This fosters transparency, trust, creates relationships, provides a clear direction, and makes them appreciate and see how their support is impacting people’s lives. We thank Anders and Ingela for their continuous support, and we pray for them daily.

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” 1 John 5:13-15
