A monthly report of the month of August 2026
Introduction.
Uganda continues to face deep and interconnected challenges in education, health, and household economic stability, particularly in rural communities. Many children still lack access to quality schooling, with families unable to afford scholastic materials, uniforms, or examination fees, and schools themselves often lacking the resources to nurture the talents of their pupils. In the area of health, malnutrition remains a serious concern among young children, and access to safe maternal care, including emergency procedures such as caesarean sections, is often out of reach for families with limited income. On the economic front, many homesteads survive on subsistence farming and small trade, leaving little room to absorb shocks such as illness, poor harvests, or the cost of transport in hard-to-reach villages.
Amid these struggles, there is a deep and visible hunger among the people for the Word of God. Communities continue to welcome evangelists and pastors who travel, often on foot, into remote villages to share the Gospel. Where the Word of God takes root, lives are being transformed: broken homes are restored, hope replaces despair, and people begin to see a future beyond their present circumstances.
The Government of Uganda has made notable strides in expanding access to universal primary education and public health services, and in supporting national talent development through programmes such as school music, dance, and drama competitions. However, gaps remain in funding, staffing, supplies, and reach, especially in rural and hard-to-access districts, leaving many families and institutions without the support they need to fully thrive.
It is in these gaps that Link Hands Uganda has stepped in. Through direct, relationship-based support to evangelists, hospitals, families, and schools, Link Hands Uganda is giving people practical hope, empowering them to overcome immediate barriers, and learning valuable lessons from the communities it serves as it continues to shape and improve its project implementation. This report highlights the activities undertaken during the month.
Activities of the month.
1. Bicycles for Evangelists in Buyende District
Pastor Erifazi contacted Link Hands Uganda on behalf of evangelists working in the remote villages of Buyende District, many of which are very hard to access on foot. In response, Link Hands Uganda bought three bicycles to assist these evangelists in their ministry. The evangelists were very happy and thankful, noting that the bicycles would make it much easier to travel between villages and reach more people with the Word of God more effectively. This initiative was started by the evangelists themselves, each contributing money toward the purchase of a bicycle for one of their group members. Upon learning this, Link Hands Uganda purchased three bicycles and encouraged these ministers to keep serving the Lord and practising good stewardship.

2. Support to Nalufenya Malnutrition Ward
As part of its ongoing monthly commitment, Link Hands Uganda continued supporting the Nalufenya Malnutrition Ward by supplying essential items used to prepare therapeutic solvents for malnourished children. This consistent monthly support helps ensure that the ward is able to continue providing life-saving nutritional care to some of the most vulnerable children in the community.

3. Medical Support for Milbetty
Link Hands Uganda extended support to Milbetty, wife of Reverend Benard, during her delivery, which required an emergency caesarean section. The organisation stepped in to help cover the associated costs, easing a moment that could otherwise have placed a heavy financial and emotional burden on the family. Milbetty expressed deep appreciation for this timely support during a critical and vulnerable time for her and her new-born.
4. Supporting a Local School's Participation in the National Music, Dance, and Drama Competition.
A local school called St. Agnes, along with its trainers, had prepared talented pupils for the Music, Dance, and Drama (MDD) competition but lacked the financial means to participate at the national level. Link Hands Uganda stepped in and contributed partial support, enabling the school to fulfil its dream of showcasing the children’s talents on a national stage. This support overjoyed the school and trainers. The pupils went on to compete nationally, finishing in 33rd place, an achievement that uplifted their confidence and gave visibility to their God-given talents.

Conclusion:
The activities carried out this month reflect the heart of Link Hands Uganda’s mission: meeting people at their point of need, whether spiritual, medical, educational, or economic, and walking alongside them with practical, compassionate support. From equipping evangelists to reach remote villages, to sustaining care for malnourished children, supporting a mother through a life-threatening delivery, and helping a school unlock the potential of its pupils on the national stage, each intervention has given real people renewed hope and greater capacity to thrive.
These stories also continue to teach Link Hands Uganda valuable lessons about the depth of need in the communities it serves and the importance of timely, relationship-centred support. As the organisation looks ahead, it remains committed to expanding its reach, strengthening its partnerships with local communities, schools, churches, and health institutions, and continuing to be a channel of hope, empowerment, and transformation for the people of Uganda.
